New general courses for 2010

The following new courses have been added for first term in 2010:-

Computer Security

This is a one off class to help you understand the risks that may be lurking as you do your Internet Banking etc. Friday 26th February rooms 5 & 6 upstairs at Silver Grove starting at 11.30.

Melbourne Cup Luncheon

Members and their partners or guests are invited to watch the races on the large screen while enjoying a delicious chicken and salad lunch with dessert. The event starts at 12 noon, Tuesday 3rd of November in the Seniors Centre, Silver Grove.

Cost is $15 and BYO drinks. There will be sweeps, lucky prizes and trivia competitions. There are limited places and bookings are essential.

2009 Seniors Festival

U3A Nunawading will be participating in the Opening Day of this Annual event at the Carnival of Learning to be held at Federation Square on the 4th October 2009. We will have a full presence including an information booth and, as well, a number of our regular activities will be featured. This is an outstanding opportunity to showcase all that Victorian U3As have to offer and we invite all those interested to join us. Details will also appearing in the Press.

Birthday

U3A Nunawading was established in 1990 and 2010 will mark our 20th Birthday. Plans for the celebration of this milestone are well underway.

New Class

Greek Dancing - Those interested in Greek Dancing may attend a new class to commence in Term 4 Monday mornings. See our September Newsletter for more details.

Practical Sustainability

This course is returning on Monday mornings for Term 4 and we refer those interested in this topical subject to our September Newsletter for full details.

History of Astronomy

Another new class in our popular History at Random series will be held on Friday mornings commencing 11th September and run through Term 4.

Vic Roads and partners have created a new web site with details of the Springvale Road / Railway separation project. Clicking the yellow button will open the web site in a new window or tab in your browser. Note that the new railway to be constructed at Nunawading will be adjacent to our U3A Nunawading offices at Silver Grove. This new web site has a number of diagrams showing the final result of this upgrade project.
